Excerpt from our newsletter...
Dear friends, Five years ago, we started a journey. In 2015 we invited twenty-four learners from four local high schools to come along. Earlier this year we celebrated as four of those learners completed the four-year journey. They are now writing Matric exams and preparing for the rest of their lives. Asanda Magida is an energetic and talented young lady. She comes from Ngcamgeni, the village just to the east of Fort White. In the past she has served as an IYT volunteer and been employed casually when funds and needs coincided.
As we continue to move forward, we find ourselves in desperate need of some administrative assistance, and Asanda is in need of employment. So we are stepping out in faith together. She will begin to work for us next week. Our goal is to raise a monthly salary of R3000. She has a certificate in project management and some office experience. She also has a passion for young people. We hope that she will help us launch both a literacy programme and the No Apologies abstinence programme. Would you prayerfully consider sponsoring Asanda? Donations can be made to Indawo Yethemba Trust, Standard Bank, Account 202250199 or SWIFT code SBZAZAJJ |
About purpose… I need to keep the children out of the streets because I see many children play in the streets. So I take a chance to talk to them and convince them to come to the church every day after school to make home works. Siyabonga (Elvis), Mdiboaniso SSS |
About motivation… I interview some children and ask them why they are always playing…I decide I must open a reading club…if they do not read their books they are destroying their future. If they do not like education there are no future leaders. Unam, Richard Varha SSS |
About obstacles… It was hard to find people to join my project. They say they are busy and I must give them money. They say it’s stupid to join…cause it’s me only who went to camp and they won’t gain anything. Thimna, HH Majiza SSS |
About regrets… I was scared…I said, “I can’t do what I planned.”…I didn’t quit, but I cheated myself. Next time I won’t repeat the same mistakes. The next opportunity I get, I’ll grab it and do my best, not just for myself and other people, but for God. Asenathi, AFLCA |
